Contemporary architectural elegance in Mārupe
A sophisticatedly designed private house has been created in Mārupe, where architecture transforms into quality of life, and technology into quiet, unobtrusive luxury. This single-family house project is the author's work of architect Kristians Zemgalis and architectural design studio CDP – a convincing testament to the aesthetics of minimalism, where every detail is deliberate, but nothing is superfluous.
The architectural image of the building is based on clean lines, balanced proportions and functional clarity. The laconic rectangular volume is nuancedly complemented by a slightly protruding terrace and carport area, which gives the facade depth, rhythm and spatial dynamics. The form of the house follows the function, revealing the characteristic architectural philosophy of CDP – aesthetic restraint, where luxury is expressed in silence and precision.
The construction uses a monolithic concrete slab and a frame based on Ytong blocks, ensuring longevity and stability. The flat roof with PVC membrane covering harmoniously complements the ascetic silhouette of the building, while the ventilated facade with Italian premium class large-format tiles Gigacer Concrete creates an expressive, monolithic visual image. Kingspan Kooltherm insulation guarantees high energy efficiency and comfort in all seasons.
Engineering solutions meet the highest modern standards. Heating is provided by a Stiebel Eltron air-to-water heat pump, and the indoor climate is provided by a Swiss Zehnder recuperation system with CO₂ sensors, ensuring impeccable air quality. Almost all home systems can be controlled with mobile applications, making comfort intuitive and invisible.
The interior is designed as a calm, high-quality space for living. A ceiling height of 3.20 meters, hidden doors at a height of 2.40 meters and shadow profile systems create architectural lightness and a feeling of continuous space. Natural oak plank floors, Terratinta tiles and carefully selected finishing materials create a tactile, warm and luxurious environment.
The lighting solutions use Zonda, Tom Dixon and 101
Copenhagen designer luminaires, which give the interior a sculptural feel. Plumbing from Catalano, Gessi and Hansgrohe, BWT water filtration systems and a stone bath “Perla” from PAA emphasize the quality of daily rituals. Kitchen furniture from Accanto with natural stone granite surfaces from Akmensdizains, Miele household appliances and Flou upholstered furniture reinforce the character of the premium living space.
Privacy and security are ensured by monolithic concrete fence blocks from Kilen Baltic, a design fence from Tvora, full territory video surveillance and centralized security. The landscape is designed with a carpet lawn, an automatic 11-zone irrigation system and a satellite-controlled lawn mowing solution, allowing the environment to maintain perfection effortlessly.
The building is connected to the city water supply and sewage system, meets the requirements of a nearly zero-energy building and demonstrates a modern, sustainable approach to luxury living.
Living area – 163 m², total house area – 250 m², land area – 1200 m².
This house in Mārupe is not just an architectural object – it is a peaceful assurance of quality, a space where design, technology and the aesthetics of life merge into a single, sophisticated experience.
