Old Riga, with its romantic aura and unique architecture, has always been Riga's calling card and the heart of the city. It has been a popular place to visit and stay for decades. A popular destination for thousands of tourists from all over the world.
The property is located on the outskirts of the Old Town, at 21 Marstalu Street. Marstalu Street is one of the main streets of the Old Town, with a lot of people and many tourists.
The Dannenstern House is one of the most famous Baroque houses. The Baroque portals were designed by the sculptor Dietrich Walther. The building was built in 1696 and was the largest private house in the city at that time. Today it is a cultural monument and is the second largest 17th-century house in the Old Town.
The complex consists of three interconnected buildings - the main building adjacent to the street and two blocks in the courtyard. The two lower floors of the first building are used for residential purposes, while the space above could be used as a warehouse for goods. In the attic of this building there is a 5 storey warehouse with several hatches and lifts.
The building combines representative, residential and storage space. The limestone main facade is divided by large pilasters and two shallow buttresses capped by pediments. The risalite is accentuated by the axes of the two entrances, which are flanked by magnificent Baroque portals. The central part of the building has a chimney. Below the building is a cellar with a vaulted brick ceiling. The roof is covered with dark red glazed tiles.
The building could be used as an exclusive design hotel or something similar.
