Richteres Dzirnavu HPP
A special value of the complex is the hydroelectric power plant, which was commissioned in 2002 and whose infrastructure was built in the basement of the historical mill building.
During the construction of the HPP, a 90 m diversion channel, a 100 m discharge channel and locks on the Lielā Jugla River were renovated.
Two turbines were installed:
Francis type turbine — 55 kW power, wheel diameter 1.9 m, flow rate 5.25 m³/s.
Kaplan type turbine — 45 kW power, wheel diameter 0.84 m, flow rate 3 m³/s.
The HPP mainly operates in a run-of-river mode.
